The word ecology refers not to the environment, but to the relationship between living things and their environment. Etymologically tied to the Greek word for home, oikos, its modern usage is simply an abstraction - ecology truly refers not to the macrocosm of the world, but the microcosm of our personal communities - our homes.
The modern home, however, is filled with more than the voices of our families. Electronic interference from a myriad of consumer devices, alongside the eternal transmissions of radio-waves, forms an encompassing net around us, quietly framing our every movement. Quiet, but not silent.
